Drama Workshops For Schools

Drama Workshops for Schools

Reflect TIE run drama workshops for schools covering the basic areas of drama such as:

  • Warm-ups – both vocal and physical
  • Games – Drama; physical; clapping and rhythm; team etc.
  • Concentration Exercises
  • Movement Exercises and Mime
  • Characterisation
  • Improvisation techniques and exercises
  • Singing and Dance
  • Script-work
  • Acting to Camera

If you are particularly interested in a specific area of drama, for your school workshop, for example, ‘scriptwriting’, or ‘acting to camera’, then entire drama workshops can be run on this topic. The performance and drama workshops also involve games to develop team-working, group interaction, speaking and listening skills and physical awareness. With younger groups, our workshops focus on developing hand-eye co-ordination, physical awareness and speaking and listening skills through play. We pride ourselves on creating a nurturing, safe and fun environment, which encourages children to grow in confidence, lose their inhibitions and enjoy being creative.

What Teachers Say

  • The day was brilliant thank you very much, we were all extremely impressed by the enthusiasm and professionalism of Kirsty and Androulla. I was especially impressed by Kirsty’s behaviour management. The children tested them quite a bit throughout the day and she kept them in check. The ideas for the travelling to Kenya and singing Lion King was brilliant, the children loved it. I thought the games and the Masai Mara tribal people information great too as we hadn’t covered that much on it. Please pass my thanks on to Kirsty and Androulla for all their efforts and enthusiasm for our ‘Circle of life’ day, we all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.

  • I absolutely loved the workshop. It had a lot of new information for the children and consolidated some things that they already knew. The resources were excellent, as were the behaviour management and subject knowledge. I was really impressed. I really liked the way that games were used to teach the children and it helped them to remember key facts.

  • I wanted, from myself, and my students, to say a huge thank you for the drama workshops. All the students have throughly enjoyed them and benefitted from them. The Access students are all adamant that they ‘absolutely need’ more sessions with you to work on their monologues.

  • I have worked with Kirsty and Reflect many times on school productions and they have always been fantastic. They always manage to motivate and enthuse all the children and go out of their way to make it an unforgettable experience. Going above and beyond means our children always say it was one of their most memorable experiences at school. I couldn’t imagine anyone doing a better job.
