Drama skills workshops for schools
These workshops are about drama itself. We cover the core skills of performing, from warm-ups and games through to improvisation, characterisation and script work, and pitch everything at the right level for your group.
What we can cover
- Vocal and physical warm-ups
- Drama games, including clapping and rhythm games and team challenges
- Concentration exercises
- Movement and mime
- Characterisation
- Improvisation techniques
- Singing and dance
- Script work
- Acting to camera
If you would like a whole workshop on one area, such as scriptwriting or acting to camera, we can plan the session entirely around it. Every workshop also builds teamwork, speaking and listening and physical awareness, and with younger groups we put more emphasis on play, coordination and listening.
Planning your session
- Length: sessions run for 1 to 2 hours.
- Group size: anything from a small group of 10 up to two form groups at once.
We will agree the details with you when you book, so the session fits your timetable and your pupils.
Above all we want children to feel safe, supported and free to have a go. It is lovely to watch pupils grow in confidence, lose their inhibitions and simply enjoy being creative.
Want to use drama to teach a class topic instead? Take a look at our curriculum drama workshops or our PSHE workshops. If your pupils are ready for an audience, we also direct school productions.
