Year 6 leavers' productions directed for your school
Give your Year 6 pupils a send-off from primary school they will remember. We run the whole rehearsal process and stage a musical or play with your leavers, bringing in musical theatre practitioners, dance tutors and acting coaches to take it to a professional standard.
Two ways to put on your leavers’ show
A musical or play
We can write a show to order around the personalities and interests of your year group, or stage a well-known musical. A leavers’ production needs a minimum of ten sessions. That can be one morning a week for a full term, or twice a week across half a term.
A literature-based production
If your class is studying a particular book, author or story, we can direct an existing text, work with the pupils to adapt a novel into a script, or write a piece around a topic they have been learning about. We talk through any ideas you and the children have for staging and casting and build them into the production. Literature-based productions need a minimum of five rehearsals.
How it works
Our directors start by meeting all of the pupils taking part and holding informal auditions to find out their interests and strengths. We then run rehearsals to stage the piece, and class teachers receive a weekly rehearsal plan so they know which children are needed in each slot. The finished show is performed with costumes, a simple set and lighting, for the school and families to enjoy.
Through the rehearsal process the children bond as a company, and it is always lovely to see how much their confidence grows by the final performance.
